Warming Center For Seniors, Homeless and Individuals Without Heat

Our Center will be open from 9am -7pm, Monday - Friday to individuals in need of heat.
We are providing a clean, safe, friendly environment for those in need.
We will be providing food throughout the day and accepting donations to help feed those in need.
We are a CEDA Intake Site, CEDA's Furnace Program provides temporary heating units to qualified households without heat.
We will also be working to locate shelters and transportation for the homeless.

We will be doing everything we can to assist individuals during this time of freezing temperatures.

We begin processing applications during our priority period for Seniors 60+, Disabled Individuals and Emergency Reconnections Starting September 4, 2012

The General Application Period for those who qualify is November 1, 2012.

We process LIHEAP, PIPP, Weatherization and Furnace Applications. This winter heating season, LIHEAP eligible applicants will have an option to decide which of 2 affordable energy programs is best for them.

LIHEAP PIPP provides a monthly benefit payment to the utility companies
based on household utility usage and monthly income.



IHWAP The Illinois Home Weatherization Assistance Program (IHWAP) is designed
to help reduce the energy costs for low income households by making their homes more energy efficient. For
Program Years 2010-2012, this effort is being augmented by increased funding through the federal American Recovery
and Reinvestment Act (ARRA). Energy conservation actions that can be funded through IHW AP
include:
• Air sealing
• Attic and wall insulation
• Furnace repair and replacement
• Electric base load reduction (lighting and refrigerator, and
• Window and door weatherization

A maximum of $7,500 can be spent on each eligible client's home for energy related weatherization and repair work.




DOCUMENTS NEEDED TO APPLY:
Proof of gross income from all household members for the last 30-day period to the application date.
Copy of most recent heat and electric bills (if you pay for your home energy directly). Proof of Social Security Numbers for
 all household members. If a member of your household receives TANF, you must bring their Medical
Eligibility Card. Applicants that have their utilities included in their rent must bring proof of rental agreement stating
monthly rental amount, that utilities are included, and landlord contact information. (Rent costs must be greater than
30% of household gross income for 30 days prior to). Applicant must bring State Identification Card .

*Please note: If you are LIHEAP approved, or someone else in your household
receives Supplemental Security Income (SSI), Aid to the Aged Blind &
Disabled (AABD) or Transitional Assistance to Needy Families (TANF)
your income automatically qualifies your household for weatherization with
approved supporting documentation.
